Counselling for all ages and stages of life.

While the main focus of counselling sessions is my client, it's only fair at this stage for you to know a little about what brough me to this role.

From a young age and into adulthood, life brought some pretty challenging issues my way. At the time, counselling was not something that I would have considered. If anything I had nothing but negative associations with therapy, and therapists for that matter while I actually knew very little about either.

My thoughts were that my problems were too big to be improved by simply talking, I was concerned about judgement and not being understood, and a part of me saw it as a sign of weakness. As I am writing this for you to see, it's clear that something chaged my mind.

As you take this step from whatever space, situation or stahe of life you are in, I want to say that there are no guarantees, but I believe that if this was possible for me, it is possible for my clients too.

About me

How I work

I trained as a counsellor in the Person-Centred approach which means that the way I work is centred around your needs. It makes every client relationship so I don't make assumptions or judgements on your experience, rather I will try to help you to make sense of them and work through them. My knowledge, training and lived experience allows me to offer a highly personal therapy approach.

Together, we can work through the challenges you're facing, whether they stem from your past, present, or concerns you have about the future. By unpicking the thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to approach alone, I can help you to feel less stuck, and find relief from distress.

As a counsellor I have worked with clients from age 6 to 93 with issues including anxiety, abuse, depression, stress, bereavement & loss, identity, relationships, life changing events including illness, and the impact of caring for others. Currently I work as a college therapist and in provate practice with adults and young people.
